Frozen Water by C.C.
You drink it. You bathe in it. You wash your clothes in it. You splash in puddles of it. You squeal in delight when it is splattered onto you. You can’t live without it.
Neither can anyone else.

Water is the most important of all our resources. No wonder wars have been fought over it. No wonder scarcity of water continues to threated the survival and make life difficult for millions of people worldwide. No wonder he who controls the water, has the power.

Drink a glass of water today. Consider yourself lucky to be able to do just that.

Today is Blog Action Day 2010, first brought to my attention by Astrid at Asterisk That Thought. The goal is for bloggers all around the globe to unite in posting over a common theme, to create debate and discussion around important issues. This year's subject is water. To participate in spreading the word about one of the major global issues today, simply blog about it. Or sign the petition. Or both.

I still have nightmares of Ice-Nine from Vonnegut's "Cat's Cradle." A drop of Ice-Nine freezes all water in the nearby vicinity. So imagine one drop falling into the Atlantic. Horror, my friend, horror. I like ice-skating as much as anybody but there are limits.

Anyhoo. Cheers! *clinks glass*

I must be very rich indeed I drinks many galsses of water each day. I was told it was good for one's health, .
I know there are many places in the world who have no fresh water so count myself very lucky indeed.

Thanks for the mention! I've drunk a lot of water today, as well as walked through it, and worked in it (more over at my blog, hehe). I'm very lucky indeed :D

Thanks for the reminder about BlogAction Day. I am a firm believer in our ethical imperative to ensure that everyone in the world has access to clean, safe water. I am blessed to be able to get up at any moment, turn on the tap and dink a glass of water without even thinking about it. May I never, ever take this for granted. - G

Next year I'm definitely participating in the Blog Action Day. I'm sorry I didn't know about it sooner. How neat. Thanks for your blog post about water - something that is so easily forgotten about..

I'm quite thankful for my fresh water.... I drink at least 80 ounces or more a day!

We sure do need some rain in our part of the US, though (south Arkansas). Things are awfully dry!

This is a rather cool blog to find and it's got the wildest title. It's scary that we take water for granted to such an extent in the west.
