On cats (because reusing titles is the new pink)

I'm fairly sure that if you google "cats", your computer will explode. There are so many cats on the internet! (A redundant sentence if there ever was one. I want to write another...) There are probably more cats on the internet than there is offline. (I don't know if this is true. I don't know at all. I was just hoping to write a redundant sentence, and frankly, I am a little disappointed that I failed.)

I am fairly sure that your computer will explode if you google "cats" no matter if you use google.de or google.au. They have cats all over the google these days.

Considering the vast amount of cats on the internet, then, I can't help but wonder why it is that one of the major source for random hits this blog gets is from people in Germany and Australia who are searching for pictures of "cats" (or "Cats", but google isn't great when it comes to capital letters). Really? This blog? But... I have written one - ONE - post about cats. Granted, it did include a (shamelessly stolen [I've become much more careful with where I take my pictures from lately - which explains why there aren't as many pictures on this blog...]) picture from "Cats", and I assume that might be the kitty picture they are looking for.

However. I am still willing to wager that there are many sources out there a lot more informative about "Cats", or cats.

Not that I complain. Hey, feel free to visit me any way you want. But I reserve the right to question your motives...

Also, just to prove why I am not in the habit of posting pictures of cats:

Here, kitty, kitty...
Uhm... Kitty?

Stay, kitty....

Right there, that's goo... No, keep moving then...

Who's a pretty kitty?
Whiskers, you say?

Too close, kitty!

Don't leave, kitty!

No, no, stay here!

Uhm... What's this doing here?
The thing about cats, is that they don't pose. Unlike, say, squirrels...

I eventually managed one half decent shot of the cat...

...but I remain convinced that there are better places than this blog to look for pictures of cats. Or "Cats".

Awe well, there is no accounting for search engines!!!
Most cameras have a kids and pets mode- would that work for cats? It definitely works for my kids.

A wonderful picture, I adore cats, had one for 14 yrs, she belonged to my son who had to work away from home, so we took her in.
At the age of ten she was diagnosed as diabetic and we had to learn how to give her injections daily, we soon got the hang of it, my hubby passed on before the cat and she was such a comfort in the early days of widowhood. 2 yrs later I had to part with her, sad but the best thing for her.

You did get an adorable photo. I have the same problem with my 2 cats. Rarely do they stay still long enough or away from the camera for me to get a good photo.

Your cat is the exact breed of cat I would get if I wasn't deathly allergic. That and a Sphinx cat, even though they creep me right out and I'm locking it out of my bedroom. Have you seen those things? Can you imagine waking up to that sitting on your chest and staring at you?! I want one!

Natasha - it probably would, and so would better lightning so that the shutter thingie was faster. But it was late, and in someone else's house, so I didn't have the time to seek a perfect portrait ;)

Jennifer - he was a very cute and very cuddly (and slightly nagging) cat :)

Yvonne - I'd love to have a cat someday, but only if I got to live somewhere he could be outside without too much worry for traffic and animals.

Mason - funny how cats never seem to care about photos? ;)

Hannah - I wish he was mine, but I only played paparazzi when I was visiting some relatives. But I would LOVE to have a cat like this. (I'm fortunately not allergic) The Sphinx cats ARE creepy, though. In a cool way :)

That post was simply purr-fect. It really made me paws to think. I have to say I cat-egorically agree with you.

*gigglesnort* I think Google has a sense of irony programmed in or something. I get hits with strange searches now and again. Some of the searches are a little confusing why they'd actually PICK my blog, based on what is put in... I think the same applies here... if I was searching for cats and a blog popped up called Giraffability... erm... would that REALLY be the link I followed? Only if I was really trying to think outside the box, I think...

So where does your site fall if someone Googles giraffes?

My mom put out food for a stray cat...now we have 4 stray cats that won't leave our house. But none of them come close to us.

Noname - now you're just mousing with me...

Tami - I know, right? How anyone would EVER find me through that..?

Alex - surprisingly far down the list, I think ;)

Jennee - aww! Maybe they'll warm to you :)

Alexandra - the reptile creeped me out too. I was not a happy bunny when I learned that I got to share a room with it...

Talli - there can never be enough, huh? ;)

Carolyn - indeed!

Jemi - it was a pretty kitty. Wish he was mine ;)

What a BEAUTIOUS KITTY! Love her!
I too have an extraordinarily difficult time getting my orange cat to stop moving long enough to get a picture of her-HOWEVER I have discovered an 'action shot' setting on my camera. Maybe your camera has one too? LOL

OMG, my cat looks very similar to yours! He has shorter fur though - but the chocolate Siamese look is there with those beautiful blue eyes! They do move a lot though, don't they! Lol.

You know for how much cats laze around, why can't they stay still for a picture?

Hi C.C.,
I love cats. I have two. One is photogenic, the ohter one is a bit shy. I also love squirrels. I've taken so many pics of them. They're funny creatures ;)
You should visit my fellow blogger's site on cats (perhaps you already know about her). Check out, Old Kitty at:
