On clementines

I have many dreams - big ones. Hopes, plans - life long ones. The kind that affect your major life decisions.

But sometimes life is all about the small things. About having a snoring, one-year-old sleeping on your chest because she doesn't want to be alone. About having a nice cup of tea that makes your sore throat slightly less sore. About finding a dress that fits you better than the mannequin wearing it. About spending time with great friends you know you can rely on, no matter what.

Or about eating the season's first perfect clementine, knowing you'll be eating 1,5 kilos of them the next month, if you're anything like the average Norwegian.

clementines, eh? I prefer the big sweet juicy seedless oranges myself - tho it's notoriously hard to get one.

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings?

I love clementines! And I agree, it's good to focus on the small things, because sometimes the big picture can be overwhelming.

As someone in the midst of some of those overwhelming big things, there is pleasure to be found in focusing on the small and perfect sweet-tartness of a clementine. I had one 30 seconds ago, in fact.

I don't like when they're full of seeds
