On rain coats

Moominians

I have a rain coat. Here’s what it is:
-purple
-pretty
-making me look like I should live in the Moomin valley

Here’s what it isn’t:
-waterproof

In addition it is clammy. I guess you could say it is waterproof on the inside. For water coming out of me. But not for water coming from the outside in.

This is a problem. What to do with a coat that is supposed to keep me from getting wet, but instead never fails to drench me, one way or another?

I have one of those, annoying to say the least. We have had heavy snow all week hoping it will disappear soon.

Yup, I've got one of those, too. I leave it in my closet. I wish I had a good suggestion for you. If you think of anything good, I'd like to know, too :)

They can drive remote-controlled little cars on Mars, but not make a water-proof rain coat. That's kind of strange isn't it? My rain coat is just the same. But now it's been so damned cold for a couple of weeks, so my rain coat hasn't been used much >:)

Depends if you look great in it, and then nothing else matters... :0)

Did you ever stop to think you might be wearing it inside out? And if you're not, maybe you should! You're welcome.

I'd say you pass it on to another unsuspecting, er, person!

Sounds like it good for misty days maybe.

I had one of those too. It was new. It was expensive. I returned it. They phoned later to say it was faulty and the fabric manufacturer had omitted to treat the fabric with waterproofing. They were very apologetic.

I then purchased a boring black gortex one that keeps me dry.

Could yours become a little humidifier for raising seedlings? Or give it to someone who needs a sweatsuit to lose weight?

In my experience, water coats keep out the dry. Pesky dryness!

*giggles* Oh man, I hate that! It wouldn't by chance work inside-out, would it?

As long as it's pretty no one cares if it actually keeps you dry. Just don't look sweaty when you take it off.

That's a weird coat! I wonder what the makers were thinking?
