This is the blog equivalent of a commercial break. So, if you're dying to get up, take a leak, make a snack, change channels, this would be the time. Since I'm the sponsor of this show - er, blog - however, it is within my interest to make you stay and watch the commercials. My trick to lure you in is that I broke off my post at an
extreme point of tension (a
blogiversary! Yay! But what's next? Is she going to continue in the same giraffable mode, or will she digress her way onto new topics?), so that you have no choice but to sit through the commercial break to make sure you don't miss as much as a second of the actual post (and at no point do you suspect that the commerical IS the actual post, because that is how clever my marketing strategy is). You just painfully sit back in your couch, suffering through the stupid commercials while waiting for the return of your
show blog.
1) Feeling a little blue? The Burrow has the solution. A drabble a week, makes you happy and sleek!
A new drabble dare is up at
Burrowers, Books & Balderdash, and it is
your loss if you don't participate. Talk to your doctor today about Drabbles.
Common side effects are drowsiness, giddiness, fatigue, mouth sores and death.
2) Could reading a blog really make you laugh more than two times per minute? Could unfamiliar viewpoints on a familiar concept really cause unnecessary confusion? Could there be anything more annoying than commercials consisting solely of rhetorical questions? Really?
There is also a new blog post up at
Burrowers, Books & Balderdash, and even though it might seem like it is written by a madwoman, the owners of the blog claim not to know where the post came from. You'll have to check it out for yourself to see if you can reply to any of the questions above with confidence. Can you?
Subject to reading habits, laughing habits, geography and other restrictions. May not be available everywhere.
Once the commercial break is over, though, you come to realize that you indeed could have gone for a snack, since the
show you were watching blog you were reading always offers a recap before returning to the point of tension... In this blog, for instance, we have just read an interesting post about blogiversaries (and by "just" I mean three days ago). Coming next, a post about record stores. Or cute guys. Or embarassing memories. Or all of the above? Stay tuned...

cute! commercial breaks are welcome in my home!
Now you're just playing with us!
Thanks for those little insights (commercials) I don't get to your other blog as often as I would like. I should go check it out today. Now, back to regularly scheduled programming.

Amie - the commercials were definitely my least favourite part of watching TV in the US. We have them here as wellm, but far fewer. I suppose the US ones are sort of entertaining, though (many of them unintentionally so)..
Alex - tee hee, I would NEVER do that...
Clarissa - if you only check it out when I post a commercial you're definitely missing out. There are some awesome people over there, and I always feel that my posts are not quite as good as the rest (mine tend to lean towards the silly side, for some reason..)
LOL, this post amused me. Thanks so much.
I’ll pass on the cute guys if you don’t mind…. unless of course they’re immaculately dressed.
Have a nice day, Boonie
Over here sometimes the commercial break is better than the programm.
Loved the read very well written.
Yvonne.
omg you are nutz.
Can I just point out that #1 your blog is not being read aloud to me, so there is no way I can take a leak or make a snack while you digress...
Can I further point out that #2 I just solved all our "need more time" problems by noting that blogs should be read aloud--! Must teach computer to read aloud...
Excellent! You have convinced me to spend my entire savings on giraffe-shaped potato bites. They are potatolicious...
Summer - you're very welcome! I strive to amuse, after all, even though I acknowledge that it might seem like I mostly strive to be called insane (and it works!)
Boonie - ah, now where's the fun in that? I didn't pass on the rubber gear, now did I? It's only fair you pretend to be thrilled about the potential for cute boyz on this blogz...
Yvonne - tee hee, yeah, I like funny commercials too. Unfortunately the jokes get old so fast...
Leigh - omigosh, I had never thought about that! Does that mean that you all had to READ all of the above nonsense? :P
And yes, I highly condone blog reading computers. It would save me loads of time. I could blog myself to sleep.
(And thank you - nutz iz goodz in my bookz!)
Mark - NOW you're learning! I want something potatolicious too.. Preferably giraffe shaped. Too bad you don't have any savings left, or you could have mailed me some..
This may be the first commercial break(s?) I've ever paid attention to.

The fine print had me laughing. I liked your little commercial break.
Thanks to those commercials I found where else you hung out. I avoided death but I think I caught some mouth sores. Eww...I hate when that happens.
*squirrel invades blog to pose in unlikely positions*
Did somebody say something about kumquat clarity?
HAIL DIGRESSION!
Barbara - advertizements are lost on you, then... I might be able to sell that useful piece of information to some big buck companies!
Marjorie - I always wonder how they manage to speak so fast (how do you SPEAK in fine print?) at the end of pharmaceutical commercials. We don't really have those here, so the disclaimers at the end was a first for me when I visited the US.
nonamedufus - glad you avoided death! Actually, that one has yet to be proven, but we added it to make sure we weren't sued... Sorry about the mouth sores, though.. (And glad you found my other hang-out)
Tami - *snort* What will I do when I am no longer a student? When I don't have the pressure of exams and papers and such, will there be any creativity at all?
Fun - I enjoyed the commercial :)
Okay, first, how adorable could you possibly be? I love this.
Second, I'm thanking you on your blog for finding the picture for me. You giraffiness continuously astounds me.
And, finally, thanks for the drabble dare reminder. I've been running around like crazy the past 48 hours getting ready for and beginning class that I plum forgot! :/
This is definitely my kind of commercial! Love your recap, too :)
Jemi - glad you did. Maybe PR should be my career of choice?
Rosie - haha, it makes me giggle when people say I'm adorable. Sounds like I'm a tap dancing gerbil or something. Not that I don't like that, it just fits bad with the fact that I am 5 feet ten (or something like that. I'm not sure how tall I am, centimetres or otherwise). And I DID notice (and comment - at least I meant to), and I saved your post and all the lovely comments in a document called "for a rainy day". That just made me adorable again, didn't it...
Belle - yay! Seriously, PR career for me? ;)
For some reason, I am now sitting here and can’t get the words Burrowers, Books & Balderdash out of my head. How is that possible?) Guess I better go click on the link if I want to sleep tonight.
Okay, I'll bite and check out the blog. Gotta use the bathroom first before this break is over.
Stephen Tremp
Jane - haha, catchy, isn't it? ;)
Stephen - hope you also had time for a snack!
Adorability has nothing to do with size, my dear! It's all about attitude, and since you have a great one... well, adorability ensues :)
I'm glad you saved the comments. They're all from the heart--mine and everyone else's!
