On eight things you didn't know you didn't know about me (and possibly never wanted to know)

I’ve seen this thing on several blogs – the ones I can currently remember are Chary’s, Rosie’s and Tami’s. The following list of questions seemed like a fitting way of ending a random sort of week…

1. What is YOUR definition of sexy?

Well, according to The Giraffability Dictionary, fifth edition, sexy can be a great many things, such as intelligence, a sense of humor, confidence, and guys playing the piano or wearing uniforms (don’t ask…). However, there is one thing that always makes me want to steal a second glance at a guy: when he is reading a book (which can make library visits quite awkward…). Fortunately for me, there are websites out there to fuel my desires…. (No, I’m not linking to a porn site! That’s what spam comments are for!)

2. Would you rather clean up puke or change a poopy diaper?

Diaper. If you’re lucky and the baby is young, it might not even have a stinker in it…

3. Are you an introvert or an extrovert?

I’m an extrovert in denial. Or possibly an introvert who is good at faking it. I see myself as something of an introvert (I am all about me-time. Frankly, if I could get away with it, I think I would be very happy living alone in a cabin far, far away from civilization [though not too far away from a shower. I need me my hygiene…]). However, others tend to describe me as an outgoing and social person. So I guess I actually am somewhere in the middle.

4. If you had to give up one of your 5 senses for a year..which one would you give up?

A part of me wants to say touch, because wouldn’t this also mean no physical pain? That would be sort of interesting, at the same time as it would be really, really dangerous (since you’d have no way of knowing when you accidentally hurt yourself). But knowing sensible old me, I’d probably go with smell or taste. I’ve been doing fine without either of those a few times when I’ve had a bad cold, and I’m sure a year without them would make me appreciate these senses more than I do regularly. Sooo, taste it is.

5. Cake or Pie?

Cake! I don’t even see why this is a question…

6. If you could play any character on TV (old or current) who would you play?

I just watched a really poor version of Wuthering Heights (which counts as TV, since this clearly was a TV movie. I think…), and this story certainly has a lot of interesting characters. I think I’d get much more pleasure out of playing Heathcliff than Cathy, though…

But I would probably base my choice on something much more shallow than that – I’d pick a character who got to kiss some hot dude… Ooo, I've got it. I've always wanted to play some version of Lois Lane. Superman can save me any day!

7. My favorite website is.....?

My blog is something of a favourite – not because my blog is so special, but because this is the starting point for all the lovely blogger interaction I am doing these days. Other than that I never resist a chance to post a link to http://www.onemilliongiraffes.com/.

8. The highlight of my day is....?

The morning. It’s funny, because I’m not really a morning person in the sense that I jump out of bed at 6 am, rested and happy. That has never happened, and most likely never will. And yet – mornings (once I am properly awake) are perfect for fresh starts (which I love), breakfast (which I also love), coffee (which I… You’re getting the idea, right?), newspapers (love!), sunrises (lovelove!), giraffes (just testing if you’re awake)…

Have a girrraffy weekend! :)

I wish I was an introvert who was good at faking it. :( And I agree, why even ask about cake or pie? Cake all the way! - G

I love this! I may have to steal it someday. I am starting to think we have a lot more in common...

yes! An introvert who's good at faking... at last I know myself! ;p And OMG--you and JRM re: Cake v. pie. Me = pie. JRM, "My favorite pie is cake." :D

good stuff~

Nothing wrong with a man in uniform. Mmmm, just everything right! :) Maybe that's why you want to play Lois Lane, huh? Super hero in a uniform! Love it :)

PS--My husband's blueberry peach pie could make you change your mind.... ;)

Just found your blog--love the title!

I love mornings too, for the fresh-start/breakfast/coffee feeling :)

You must come around and try my cakepie sometime. It is...

...delicious. Almost as yummy as Foster Wallace.

Yvonne - thank you (and you too)!

Boonsong - "unusual personality", huh? I always thought I was quite usual. Though I do get that the giraffe thing is weird...

cassandrajade - well thank you for bothering to read them ;)

Georgina - *high fives fellow cake lover* I'm not always good at faking it, though. I just pretend to be...

Jennee - Like what? Maybe I'll just have to wait for your list... :)

Leigh - tee hee, I guess if I could have a cake pie, I wouldn't mind so much.. (That is, I don't *mind* pie - I like pie, but I love cake!)

Rosie - I know, right? When I was in the US last year I visited Annapolis, where the navy school something or other is located. I nearly swooned when all those young sailors in their (to me) Hollywood-ish uniforms passed me on the street.
And even though that pie sounds divine, I'm not convinced it would change my mind...

Lynn - well, then - welcome! :) I think my blog title probably attracts certain random visitors - hopefully the content doesn't drive them all away again!

Mark - cakepie! I'm on the next flight! Or boat. Or train (it's my impression that certain parts of Scotland can only be accessed by train). Aaand you're right, that is a mighty large line break. I can see how that will have made a very confusing notification email, and for that I appologize (and secretly snicker).

That was fun! I'm with you on the diaper choice for sure! :)

I would have passed on the Question 2. I am a morning person too. Though, waking up at 9 AM is the only thing that makes me happy. And that happens only on Sundays!
I would go with Cake too.

Have a nice day...:)

Loved your answers. I could not live without my sense of taste. I love food way to much. I can't give up touch either, I love boobies too much :-)

I am totally going to that milliongiraffe site you mentioned.

My weekends are always giraffey

Jemi - I know, right? The other option is just too gross!

Mr. S. - Oh, no - this is the 21st century, we really do have to do these things, you know... ;)
(I hope your comment doesn't mean you're ONLY happy on Sundays? In that case I really wish you could get a job that would allow you to wake up a little later every morning...)

Powdered - oh, you should. It's a great site! Makes me happy every time I visit:)

And since I don't have a habit of spending all that much time on boobies, I wouldn't miss that particular thing so much (I even carry around a pair, and I don't spend a lot of time on them!) ;)

I almost *did* lose my sense of smell after a bad cold ten years ago. It never disappeared, but it went all wacky on me. We had a bad chemical spill a few miles from our house. Everyone else commented about how bad it smelled, but I could have sworn it was chicken on the grill!

Cruella Collett said...

K.M. - haha, smell can do that to you. Did you test different things? I wonder if everything that smelled good went bad and vica versa...

love your introvert/extrovert claim. You aren't so different from me, even though I am loudly claiming introvert (and nobody believed me).

Also love the crossdressing on the character... but you know me...

Cruella Collett said...

Tami - *snort* I should have known you would have found a way of making "cross-dressing" a searchable keyword on my blog ;)

And I know the feeling of not being a believable introvert. It's exactly the reaction I got the first time I ever told anyone I considered myself that... Oh, well...

What if a guy in a uniform was playing the piano?

MP - oh, now you're just teasing me! *sigh*
