On O

I have no idea what took them so long.

It is all perfectly logical. I stop where I start, but I do not actually stop or start at all. I am an endless cycle, rotating without moving from a fixed axis. The special qualities vested in me as a result of this are hardly extraordinary. My advantages are obvious, and the fact that human beings did not notice before does not bode well for mankind. Man's invention of the wheel is nothing but centuries of lack of discovery of the circle.

I have no idea what took them so long.

A drabble is an extremely short piece of fiction, told in exactly one hundred words. For more drabbles, see http://www.the-burrow.org/, where we display a new drabble each day this month.

Hi *waves* I hopped over to let you know I got you're blog linked up and thanks for following :) I just realized that you're doing the A-Z with the Burrow that Hart was talkin' about. Great photo and love the "o" post :) Have a fantastic weekend!

Palindrome - thank you - have a great weekend too!

Portia - I liked that picture too. The original wheel, right?

Erica - that would be the very project, yup. It was a lot of fun coming up with all the different ways we could link to the assigned letters. Have a great weekend yourself :)

Interesting drabble. I love whatever symbol that is...

Clarissa - why am I not surprised that you noticed the symbol? I can't pretend to know what it means, though. If I tilt my head it looks a little like the batmobile racing towards you, but I am fairly sure that is not what it is supposed to be...

Yvonne - thank you so much! That means a lot to me, coming from a poet and all :)
If you liked this one you might want to check out the other drabbles at www.the-burrow.org. We're having a lot of fun writing them, and I am proud to say that it's a site well worth a visit (I adore reading the work of my "partners in crime")
